Icehawks News from the Nest - February 8, 2013
Just a few topics to cover in this edition of Icehawks News from the Nest.
As I write this, our travel teams are awaiting the final schedules and locations of the state tournaments. It should be posted by the CHC any day now. Keep checking at http://www.chchockey.org/Page.asp?n=72905&org=CHCHOCKEY.ORG
Good luck to all those participating!
As our teams get ready for the end of the season, the Board is hard at work preparing for next season. The dates for tryouts for squirts, peewees and bantams has not been finalized, but they will take place in late April after spring vacation. We will also be rolling out our new online registration process, so keep an eye out for all of this in the next few weeks.
Mite Hockey Meeting
Just a quick reminder about our mite hockey meeting scheduled for this Sunday, 6pm in the Brodie Room at Canterbury. I plan to summarize the results of the meeting afterwards, in case you can't make it.
There are a lot of factors that go into deciding whether a game or practice will be played when bad weather is upon us. Whether the visiting team can get here safely or whether our team can travel safely to an away rink are the primary factors. However, depending on the circumstances, other factors can come into play like the ability of the referees to travel or sometimes the rink itself may be closed. So, the bottom line is that with the impending bad weather this weekend, don't forget to check you email or the Northwestern Hockey Web site before you leave the house.
